GOLD SINGS

A celebration of life and the beauty of Nature – an installation of Bronze birds set on a worked stone base…GOLD SINGS.

The birds are the European Goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis) and they are captured launching into the air.

The sculpture was selected to be shown in the beautiful setting of the Abbey at Beaulieu as part of the 2019 SCULPTURE Exhibition.

So difficult to capture the statue in the morning light – here another clip  to experience the effects of light and space.

Here are the artists – JOEL with Melanie of Finnemore Stone in Rutland – who helped JOEL set the bronze bird sculpture onto a piece of York stone. This stone is full of age and character already having aging and moss and lichen – as well as the worked areas and carved lettering – GOLD SINGS.

‘ I Love the way that the installation looks so different in each different light and setting – that is the beauty of bronze and stone and the form of the precious birds we are celebrating,’ says JOEL. ‘We hope that the work continues to attract interest and conversations about the importance of Nature Conservation – even as we enjoy art in special settings and take it home.’

JOEL aims to develop the designs of these installations and to make available more of the Way Markers and Nature Homes.
