Commission Detail Portrait Sculpture
The portrait bust – Life-sized head sculpture
Bronze Rich Shine
I have been specialising in detailed sculpture portraits of people and animals for many years now and it is always a delight to collect the cast bronze artworks from the foundry and see how the rich tones of the metal bring to life the details put into the clay and then the wax.
The life size scale means I can achieve great detail of coat, expression of eyes and ears and the particulars of their expression.

Here are the lovely dogs that have been celebrated in classic bronze as the special gifts, for special people on yes, special days.
A standard poodle from the South of England and a Cocker Spaniel from East Anglia.
Both dogs, full of character and having lots of coat to form and capture in its details.
Meet the Poodle Person – such a noble and friendly dog – fine, yet strong boned, elegant and with a coat growing out from clipping.

Note the long wavy hair on the ears and hint of spirals to the coils as they grow out

Beautiful almond shaped eyes and amazing eyelashes!

Characteristic shape to the back of the head and such a powerful, yet elegant neck.
Now to show the contrast in the smaller breed of dog, the Cocker Spaniel boy with his soulful expression and regal poise.

Here a mature chap – but we could make the portrait head of him in his prime.
Look at those ears with fine wavy hair, and the eyebrows – so full of expression.

And the hair on the back of his head – that was marvelously unique!

Such a loving dog friend
