I am so excited to be putting all I have learned with the Milo project into action with this latest sculpture portrait of a very special dog called Millie.

Discovering the nuance and nature of this wonderful Border Terrier dog called Millie and making a portrait sculpture that can be cast in Bronze. Joel undertakes another challenging project for a coated dog with a lot of character.

The runny rubber is added to go into all the crannies and crevices and slowly built up. Once all the layer are in place and  decisions made for the splits and design – the backing shell will be built up. 

Then it is off to the casting process and a special founders wax will be poured into the cleaned mould and Sculptress visits to check the wax and add any last fine details

Then the long process of lost wax casting and finishing…
