Sculptures of Swifts in the Nest
We are ‘hatched’ !

Young Swifts in the nest – inspiration for a new sculpture
Aiming to continue with the promotion of the cause of the conservation of this special bird.

‘Thanks to all who helped in the research and development of the first young Swift in clay – I can hardly wait until we can cast them and I can make a group – a netsuke-like tangle of Swiftlings!’
JOEL is interested in connecting with individuals and groups that are involved in Swift conservation.
“It is such an adventure to find out all the details of form and behaviour of each species that I capture in sculpture and bronze.”

The young Swift in finished clay has been delivered to foundry to be cast in bronze – aim to have ‘hatched’ before Christmas.

The lovely bronzes a great gift to cheer us up until they fly back in the Spring.
I love the way you can watch young Swifts exercising in the nest – stretching their wings and fanning their tails and doing press-ups. You can buy the bronze Swifts singly or in pairs – I hope to do a companion piece soon.
