This horse is described as a heavy horse, or draught horse and has been kept over the centuries for pulling carts and carriages and they are still in use today at shows and also working in forestry.

Trotting Out Proud has been used as a trophy in the UK as well as overseas, including in Australia. There are three other Shire horses without harness in this series.
